Description
The Grey Sea Cucumber or Walteria grayi is a species of sea cucumber that is found in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. It is characterized by its grey to brown body color and its cylindrical shape. This species is a detritivore, feeding on organic material found on the ocean floor. It has a unique defense mechanism wherein it can expel its internal organs when threatened and later regenerate them. Its preferred habitat is the benthic zone or the ocean floor.
