Grey Heron [Ardea cinerea]
Description
The Grey Heron is a tall, long-legged predatory bird. Its plumage is largely grey above, and off-white below. They are common throughout temperate Europe and Asia and also parts of Africa. They feed mostly on aquatic creatures which they catch after standing stationary beside or in the water or stalking their prey through the shallows.
