Green Sandpiper [Tringa ochropus]
Description
The Green Sandpiper is a large sandpiper, measuring 23-26 cm in length. It has a dark greenish-brown back and wings, with a white belly and a white line running up its back to its wings. It's found across Europe and Asia during breeding season, and migrates to Africa and South Asia in winter. It prefers freshwater habitats and feeds on insects, spiders, mollusks, and sometimes small fish and amphibians.
