Description
Aphelochaeta grayi, known as the gray marine worm, is a marine polychaete found widely in temperate coastal waters. It inhabits the intertidal zone in muddy or sandy sediments, often in areas with high levels of organic matter. The worm is grayish in color and has a slender, elongated body covered with bristles. They are detritivores, feeding on organic matter within the sediment. Aphelochaeta grayi is known for its capability of withstanding low oxygen levels.
