Description
The Anthomastus bathyproctus, also known as the Gorgonian Octocoral, is found in the deep sea from the Gulf of California to Peru. It's characterized by its fan-like shape and long, flexible branches. This species is non-reef building and typically found in muddy or silty substrates. The Gorgonian Octocoral is a suspension feeder, consuming plankton and other organic matter that drifts past its branches.
