Description
The Giant Sea Pen, scientifically known as Conchyliurus giganteus, is a large species of sea pen found in the deep waters of the Atlantic Ocean. It can grow up to 3 meters in length, making it one of the largest known species of sea pens. It has a thick, robust stem and a large bulb at the base that allows it to anchor itself into soft seafloor substrates. The Giant Sea Pen feeds on small organisms and detritus, which it filters from the surrounding water using its feathery polyps.
