Giant Calanoid Copepod [Tortanus magnus]

Description
This is one of the largest species of copepod, reaching up to 5mm in length. It is found in the deep waters of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, where it feeds on detritus and small invertebrates. It is characterized by its large size and its dark, almost black coloration.
