Furry Triton [Monoplex parthenopeus]

Description
The Furry Triton is a species of large sea snail, marine gastropod mollusk in the family Cymatiidae. It is also commonly referred to as the 'giant triton'. This species is found in the tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific region. The shell of this species reaches a length of 100 - 380 mm and is characterized by its large and heavy body. It is an active predator and feeds on starfish and other mollusks. The Furry Triton is known for its distinctive 'roaring' sound which it produces by expelling air from its respiratory system.
