Freckled Hawkfish [Paracirrhites forsteri]

Description

The Freckled Hawkfish (Paracirrhites forsteri) is a species of marine fish in the family Cirrhitidae. It is widely distributed throughout the tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific area. The Freckled Hawkfish is a small sized fish and can reach a maximum size of 22 cm length. It has a variable coloration which can be from white to cream, grey or red-brown, depending on the individual and its mood. Its body, especially the head, is speckled with small reddish spots. It has a thick body with a large mouth, and its pectoral fins are large and fan-like.
