Four-eyed hagfish [Eptatretus bischoffii]
Description
The Four-eyed hagfish is a species of hagfish. It is marine, bathydemersal, and can be found in the Northeast Atlantic: British Isles to Morocco, Mediterranean, and Madeira. It lives in a depth range of 180 - 1150 m. It is known for its four eyespots, hence the name, and its pink-gray color. It releases a huge amount of slime when distressed.
