Fimbriated Moray [Gymnothorax fimbriatus]
Description
The Fimbriated Moray (Gymnothorax fimbriatus) is a moray eel found in coral reefs in the Indian Ocean and western Pacific Ocean. It is also commonly known as the Spot-face Moray or Darkspotted Moray. They have a distinct coloration, with a yellow-brown body covered in black spots, transitioning into white spots towards the tail. They can grow up to 80 cm in length. The Fimbriated Moray is usually found in lagoons and outer reefs, hiding in crevices during the day and coming out at night to hunt.
