Excavata Clam [Acesta excavata]

Description
Acesta excavata, or the Excavata Clam, is a species of bivalve mollusk found in the North Atlantic Ocean. They inhabit rocky areas and coral reefs at depths between 10 and 700 meters. The shells of Excavata Clams are large and oval, reaching up to 15 cm in length, and have a rough, scalloped exterior. These clams are known for their bright orange tissue, which is visible when the shell is open.
