Eurasian Curlew [Numenius arquata]

Description

The Eurasian Curlew is a large wader that breeds across temperate Europe and Asia. This species is mottled brown overall with a long, downcurved bill. They are primarily found in wet grasslands where they feed on invertebrates and small vertebrates. Their distinctive 'curloo-oo' call is a common sound in its breeding areas.
