Description
The Ebony Shell, scientifically known as Graptacme eborea, is a species of marine clam in the family Pharidae. It is native to the western Atlantic Ocean, where its range extends from Massachusetts to the Gulf of Mexico. It has a robust, thick shell that is typically black or dark brown in color, hence its name. The ebony shell prefers soft substrates such as mud, sand, or gravel on the ocean floor where it burrows to live.
