Doflein's lanternfish [Lobianchia dofleini]
Description
The Doflein's lanternfish is another member of the Myctophidae family. This species is widely distributed, found in many parts of the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific Oceans. It typically inhabits deep waters, usually between 400 and 800 meters. Like other lanternfish, it possesses photophores along its body. Doflein's lanternfish are typically around 7 centimeters in length.
