Description

The Distolateralis Dragonfish is another species in the Bolinichthys genus that inhabits the deep sea environment, usually found at depths between 500 and 2,000 meters. It features a slender, elongated body with large eyes, a long barbel tipped with a photophore, and a series of photophores along the sides of its body. The species is bioluminescent and uses this ability for communication and hunting.
