Description
The Deepwater Basket Clam, Moerella donacina, is a species of marine bivalve mollusk found in deep waters. Its shell is elongated, white to light brown in color, and covered by a thin, glossy periostracum. This species is often found in sandy or muddy substrates in the Pacific Ocean, from Japan to Australia. It is a filter feeder, consuming plankton and organic particles from the water column.
