Deep-sea Rossella Sponge [Rossella fibulata]

Description
This species is a deep-sea sponge found in the Atlantic Ocean. It is similar to other Rossella species in its glass-like structure and filtering feeding method but differs in its habitat. Rossella fibulata is found in a wider range of depths and in warmer waters than its Antarctic cousins. It has a simple, elongated body with a stalk for anchoring to the sea floor.
