Deadman's fingers [Dysidea etheria]

Description
A species of demosponge found in the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico. It grows in small, irregularly shaped masses and can range in color from pale yellow to brown. This sponge is known to host symbiotic cyanobacteria which gives it a characteristic smell of rotten seaweed.
