Crimson Dragonet [Foetorepus calauropomus]
Description
The Crimson Dragonet, also known as the Ruby Dragonet or the Red Scooter Dragonet, is a small marine fish that inhabits the sandy bottom and reef areas in the Western Pacific, from the Philippines to Australia, and in the Indian Ocean. They are known for their bright red coloration, which provides a stark contrast against the sandy seafloor. These fish are slow swimmers and are often seen 'walking' on the bottom using their pectoral fins.
