Common Star Polyp [Anthelia species]

Common Star Polyp
Description

Common Star Polyp is a term used to describe several species within the Anthelia genus that are not easily distinguishable from each other. These species are often found in the Indo-Pacific region, especially around Indonesia. They typically have green or brown polyps that extend from a mat-like base. The polyps resemble stars, hence the common name. They are found in a range of habitats, including reef flats, lagoons, and seaward reefs, at depths of 1 to 30 meters.
