Common Sole [Solea solea]

Description

The common sole, or Dover sole, is a flatfish of the family Soleidae. It is generally oval in shape and brown in color, but can change its color to match its surroundings. It lives on the sandy or muddy seabed of the northern Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea, and feeds on small benthic invertebrates. This species is active at night and buries itself in the sediment during the day.
