Common Glossiphonia [Glossiphonia complanata]

Description
A species of freshwater leech found in North America, Europe, and northern Asia. It is brown to reddish-brown in color and can grow up to 30mm long. Prefers slow-moving or static bodies of water with soft substrates. It is a predator and scavenger, feeding on small invertebrates and detritus.
