Description
Scapharca broughtonii, also known as the commercial ark clam, is a species of saltwater clam that is native to the northwest Pacific Ocean, particularly the coasts of Japan, China, and Korea. It inhabits sandy and muddy bottoms in shallow waters. This species is commercially important and is often harvested for food. It has a thick, oval shell with radial ribs.
