Cod Lernaeenicus [Lernaeenicus sprattae]

Description
This parasitic copepod is typically found on the body of sprat fish. The adult female of Lernaeenicus sprattae has a cylindrical body with two parts, cephalothorax and trunk. The cephalothorax is larger, containing a four-segmented neck. The trunk is segmented and contains the reproductive organs. The color is usually semi-transparent white to light pink. The male is smaller and free-swimming.
