Cockscomb Oyster [Lopha cristagalli]

Description
The Cockscomb Oyster is a species of marine bivalve mollusc in the family Ostreidae. This species is found in the Indo-Pacific region, from the eastern coast of Africa to the western Pacific Ocean. It prefers to live in shallow waters up to a depth of 20 meters, often attached to rocks or dead coral. The shell of Lopha cristagalli is thick and heavy, with a rough outer surface. It is easily recognized by the large, comb-like scales on its shell, which look similar to a cock's comb, hence the name.
