Description

The Chilean Abalone has a shell that is round and convex, with a sculpture of coarse, concentric growth lines. It is a herbivore, feeding mainly on benthic macro algae. It is found in the subtidal zone to a depth of around 10 meters, where it lives on rocks in areas with high wave action.
