Candil Snapper [Candil lutjanus]

Description

The Candil Snapper is a species of snapper native to the western Atlantic Ocean including the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea. This species inhabits areas with rocky substrates at depths from 10 to 70 metres. It is a predatory species that feeds on smaller fish and invertebrates. Distinguished by its yellowish colour, elongated body and large mouth, it can reach up to 40 cm in length.
