California Muddy worm [Owenia californica]

Description
A species of annelid worm in the genus Owenia, found along the coast of California. Like other Owenia species, it is a tube-dwelling worm that lives in sandy or muddy sea beds. The species has a segmented, elongated body and a retractable 'introvert' head. It feeds mainly on micro-organisms found in the sediment.
