Brown venus clam [Timoclea ovata]

Description
Known as the brown venus clam, Timoclea ovata is a species of bivalve mollusk found in the Northeast Atlantic Ocean. It inhabits a range of substrates, from sandy to muddy bottoms, at depths of up to 100 meters. It is characterized by its oval shape, cream to light brown color, and concentric growth lines. Inside, the shell is white with a purple spot. The species is filter-feeding and has a lifespan of up to 9 years.
