Description
The Branching Red Sponge is a marine sponge that is native to the eastern Pacific Ocean. It is commonly found on rocky substrates in shallow waters. Characterized by its branching form and vibrant red color, this sponge can reach up to 40 cm in height. It is a filter feeder, using specialized cells called choanocytes to trap and consume microscopic food particles from the water.
