Branched Acropora Coral [Anacropora forbesi]

Description
The Branched Acropora Coral is a species of acroporid coral found in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, the southwest and northern Indian Ocean, the Persian Gulf, the Gulf of Oman, the Arabian Sea, and the central Indo-Pacific region. This species is found in shallow tropical reefs, and its colonies are composed of long, thin branches. The species is rated as Near Threatened on the IUCN Red List, and it is thought that its population is decreasing due to the global reduction of coral reefs, the increase of temperature causing coral bleaching, and disease.
