Description
Boccardia proboscidea is a sedentary polychaete worm known to live in a wide range of habitats, from intertidal areas to depths of 30 meters. This species is characterized by its long, slender body and its proboscis, which is used to filter feed detritus and plankton from the water column. B. proboscidea is also known for its reproductive strategy of brooding its eggs in specialized structures called brood tubes.
