Blue-spotted maskray [Neotrygon australiae]
Description
The Blue-spotted maskray is a relatively small stingray species characterized by a bright blue coloration with large, conspicuous, irregularly shaped spots. It is found in the tropical waters of northern Australia and southern New Guinea, inhabiting shallow inshore waters including estuaries.
