Blue Shark [Prionace glauca]

Description

Blue sharks are named for their distinct blue color, with a dark blue dorsal side and a lighter blue ventral side. They are slender, with a long, conical snout and large, rounded pectoral fins. Blue sharks are pelagic, typically found in cool, temperate waters worldwide but can be seen in warm waters. They are known for their migratory behavior, often covering great distances. They are viviparous, with females giving birth to litters of 4 to 135 pups. Blue sharks primarily feed on small fish and squid, but can also consume sea birds and mammalian carrion.
