Blue Diaptomid [Skistodiaptomus pallidus]

Description
A species of freshwater copepod in the family Diaptomidae. It is found in North America, where it is more common in the eastern parts of the continent. It is a small creature, typically less than 2mm in length. It has a bluish coloration, hence the common name. It prefers calm, still waters, and is most commonly found in ponds and small lakes.
