Black lugworm [Arenicola defodiens]

Description
The black lugworm, Arenicola defodiens, is a species of marine polychaete worm. It is larger than its relative the common lugworm, Arenicola marina, and is found at lower water levels on the beach. It is often used by fishermen as bait. It's a benthic organism which lives in burrows in muddy and sandy marine sediments.
