Bigeye Sixgill Shark [Hexanchus nakamurai]
Description
The Bigeye Sixgill Shark, scientifically known as Hexanchus nakamurai, is a deep-sea shark species with a lifespan of about 80 years. It is characterized by its large green eyes and six gill slits on either side of its broad head. This shark has a slim body and is usually brown in color, and can grow up to 1.8 meters in length. It is known to inhabit the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans, generally living at depths between 90 and 610 meters but sometimes found as deep as 2,000 meters.
