Bartel's Frogfish [Fowlerichthys barteli]

Description

This species is endemic to the Galapagos Islands. It is usually found in shallow, coastal waters and is known to inhabit rocky reefs, especially those rich in sponge fauna. The Bartel's Frogfish is characterized by its distinctive coloration ranging from red to brown, and its mottled pattern which aids in camouflage.
