Description

Commonly known as Axiokebuita's Pufferfish, Axiokebuita saxatilis is a unique species of Pufferfish primarily found in the rocky subtidal zones of the Pacific Ocean. It is characterized by its distinctive, rounded body and sharp, needle-like teeth. This species exhibits a unique defense mechanism: when threatened, it inflates its body by swallowing water or air, thereby deterring predators. It feeds mainly on invertebrates, including crustaceans and mollusks.
