Description
Atolla gigantea is a species of deep-sea crown jellyfish. Like other Atolla species, it uses bioluminescence to protect itself from predators. In the presence of a threat, Atolla gigantea can produce a series of flashes to attract a bigger predator that may attack its initial predator, a response known as the burglar alarm defense.
