Description
The Atlantic Pearl Oyster, also known as the Atlantic Winged Pearl Oyster, is a species found in the tropical Atlantic Ocean, particularly in the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. Like other species in its genus, it has an asymmetrical shell with a wing-like protrusion. It is known for its ability to produce pearls, although not as prolifically as its Pacific counterparts.
