Atlantic Cownose Ray [Rhinoptera bonasus]
Description
The Atlantic Cownose Ray is a species of eagle ray found throughout a large part of the western Atlantic and Caribbean, from New England, USA to southern Brazil. This species is most recognizable by its square, indented snout and angular body. The Atlantic Cownose Ray is a migratory species, with separate populations in the Gulf of Mexico and along the Atlantic seaboard. Its diet primarily consists of clams, oysters, hard clams and other invertebrates.
