Ascon Leucosolenia [Leucosolenia ascon]

Description
A species of calcareous sponge found in marine environments, particularly in shallow waters. They form colonies of small, delicate, branching tubes. The tubes are made up of a single layer of choanocytes surrounding a large interior space. The sponges filter feed by creating a current of water that flows through their bodies and captures microscopic food particles.
