Arctic sand lance [Cerberoides arcticus]

Description
The Arctic sand lance, or Cerberoides arcticus, is a species of ray-finned fish in the family Ammodytidae. It is a marine, temperate water-dwelling fish which is known to reside in the demersal zone of the water column. It is native to the northern parts of the Atlantic Ocean. This species is characterized by its elongated body and small, upward-pointing mouth, adapted for feeding on plankton.
