Description
The arctic sand dollar, or Bathecalyx arcticus, is a unique species of sand dollar that inhabits the cold waters of the Arctic Ocean. It has a flat, round body with a white to light brown coloration. The species is known for its ability to withstand extremely cold temperatures. They feed primarily on plankton and detritus and live buried in the sandy or muddy seafloor.
