Description
The Ceriantheomorphe americana, or the American Tube Anemone, is a marine species found in the western Atlantic Ocean. It is characterized by a long, tubular body with a crown of tentacles at the top. The body color can vary from brown to grey to green. This anemone prefers to inhabit sandy or muddy bottoms where it burrows into the substrate, leaving only its tentacles exposed to capture prey. It is a nocturnal species, active primarily at night.
