Description
The American sand lance, or Cerberoides americanus, is a species of sand lance in the family Ammodytidae. It is found in marine, brackish habitats within the Western Atlantic Ocean. This species is distinguished by its slender, elongated body, a pointed snout and a small, superior mouth. They are known to burrow in sandy substrates and are primarily planktivorous.
