American conger [Conger oceanicus]
Description
The American conger, also known as the conger eel, is found in the western Atlantic Ocean, ranging from Massachusetts to northern South America, including the Gulf of Mexico. It is known to inhabit various environments such as muddy and sandy bottoms, rocks and reefs, and it is especially common in harbors.
