Description

The Alabama Sturgeon is a critically endangered species found only in the Mobile River basin, Alabama. It is a small sturgeon, typically measuring 60-85 cm long. It has a long, slender snout and a ventrally located mouth adapted for bottom-feeding, primarily consuming small invertebrates. The Alabama Sturgeon is characterized by its bright orange coloration when mature.
